- Your report is received at the Cyber Safety Operations Center.
- The report is recorded and assigned a case number.
- The report is assigned a priority code determined by severity.
(life threatening and child endangerment cases are first priority.)The report is sent to the Case Screening Unit for processing, (as follows.)

Complainant is contacted for additional information/evidence, (if needed.)
Information is cross referenced in database for duplicate and/or similar cases.
Additional screening and verification is initiated as required.
When the report has been verified as authentic, it then becomes a "Case".

High priority cases are immediately dispatched to an Staff Member for investigation.
(remaining cases are sorted by type and priority, then dispatched accordingly)The investigating Staff Member initiates a formal investigation of the case.
(Each case is unique, therefore you may, or may not be notified what action is being, or has been taken on your case.)All facts, evidence, findings and other information is collected and analyzed. The results and investigating Staff Members recommendations are presented to Senior Staff Members for determination of what action should be taken.
Staff Members are notified of what actions are recommended and they take the appropriate actions to resolve the issue.

Cases requiring prosecution are forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agency for action.
Cases submitted that prove to be false, misleading and/or retaliatory, are forwarded to the proper authorities for prosecution and/or other legal action.
When the issue is resolved, dispatch is notified and the case is returned to central for processing, recording and closing.
This is a thorough and time consuming process. Depending on the many factors involved, this process may take from 1 day up to several months to complete, Please be patient. We will make every attempt to resolve this matter quickly and to the satisfaction of all those involved.
